Final draft for physical security KEYMARK ready for approval!
We are pleased to inform you that the Security KEYMARK for physical security products is ready for the market. The new Security KEYMARK Scheme Rules contain all information relevant for the KEYMARK certification of burglar resistant products intended to provide protection to people, property and infrastructure in industrial, public and domestic buildings. These scheme rules are being developed and subsequently maintained by the interested parties in this field consisting of European certification bodies and testing laboratories.
Introduction
The Security KEYMARK Scheme Rules contain all information relevant for the KEYMARK certification of physical security products based on European Standards EN 1627, EN 1628, EN 1629, and EN 1630.
After final approval by the KEYMARK Management Organization (KMO), the Scheme Rules become valid and interested Certification Bodies can apply for Empowerment to grant the KEYMARK.
Main requirements in the physical security KEYMARK Scheme Rules are:
- Initial type test
- Initial inspection of Factory Production Control
- Technical documentation
- Surveillance factory inspection
For products intended to offer protection from a casual or opportunist burglar the designated resistance classes are: RC 1 N, RC 2 N, RC 2 and RC 3. For products intended to offer protection from experienced and ‘professional’ burglars the designated resistance classes are: RC 4, RC 5 and RC 6
